HANDBAG Project

In association with Manukau Sunrise we are collecting handbags for Woman's Refuge.
When woman escape their home many come with nothing and this project will use the collected handbags fill them with goodies and  they will be given to the women who front up to a refuge.

A worthy cause so we  would like all Tuakau Rotary members to reach out to their networks and collect as many good handbags(that are not used) for this project.
All collected handbags will be stored at Tuakau College and then by the end of April will be given to Manukau Sunrise for filling and distribution.
Thanks for participating in this project in anticipation of a great response.
Thank you to the Sponsors of the Children's Day

Tuakau Children's Day
As part of the planned Tuakau Children's Day celebration from October 2018,  a lot of organisation and effort was put in towards implementing this project. The fellow rotarians took  responsibilities various capacities to  carry out the respective duties, in making this day a huge success. Special thanks from the club goes to rotarian Manoj Arni and his wife for the extra effort and commitment towards this project.  The event took place at Dr John Lightbody Reserve, Tuakau on Sunday 3rd March from 10.30am till 4.00pm. It was fun filled family day for the local community, which turned out in great numbers. There were a range of fun activities and games, including free sausage sizzle, water, fizzy drinks and snack packs from Tuakau Rotary.
Special thanks goes to our following sponsors, without them this project wouldn't have attained the level expected level of success.

Welcome to the Rotary year 2019
A big welcome to all the Rotarians by President, Chris Betty at his residence in Pukekawa for a fellowship and first meet of this Rotary Year 2018-19. It was a time to socialise, share the experiences of the summer holiday with others and celebrate the club's achievements of 2018, reflect upon and evaluate those projects and also to thank all those involved. It also gave the members an opportunity to plan the future projects and services to our community of Tuakau, Pokeno and Onewhero for the rotary year till the end of June.

President Elect for 2019-2020

Chris Betty has decided to stay on as President for the next Rotary Year 2019-2020.
The club has accepted this nomination.
There are new members that will take on the role after this but we need them to settle into Rotary first.
